Dogs as well as puppies need to be exercised and entertained every day. This is a physical activity for them, especially when they stay indoors all day and do not have access to grass. To keep them busy and moving, buying toys is essential for pet owners! It also helps to stimulate them mentally and to bond with their owner. There are different types of toys for dogs to do this! The pet owners can even put some in their pet’s cage or transport box to reassure them during the trip.
Just like for cats, toys for dogs have the advantage of stimulating pets, and making him exercise. It's all the more important to play with dog if the pet owner lives in an apartment. In a house, dog or puppy has a lot more space and can go in the garden, run in the grass or whatever.
The different types of dog toys
There are many choices when it comes to dog toys: ball, interactive game, plush... Here are the most common dog toys:
Cuddly toys: often appreciated by puppies who have been recently weaned. They love to snuggle with it, carry it around the house and play with it!

Tug-of-war toys: another very common toy for dogs is the cotton rope toy! With cotton mateiral, they will have fun and pull the rope with the pet owner. With different colors are even more stimulating.
Snuffle Mat: Loved by dogs living alone, the snuffle mat offers comfort. The pet owners can scatter the pet food around. It gives them more of a mental challenge and slows down their eating, which is really good for dogs whose tummies get upset easily. Highly recommend for any dog, especially the greedy speed eaters.
The interactive toy: it has the advantage of being fun and very stimulating for dogs, and to make him spend time. It is therefore perfect for apartment dogs! There are interactive balls, and even fish to put in the water!
The ball: a classic, but not the least. Either to throw it to dog or puppy, or for him to play with it by himself. Dogs love to fetch the ball when it is thrown to them, or when the pet owner try to take it away from them but can't! It's a classic that can't be ignored.
The throwing toys: it's not really a toy, but dog needs it and has a lot of fun on throwing the ball away and picking it back. It is practical for pets to do its claws in a fun way. More and more toys are certified organic and/or natural! They are made with respect for nature and are manufactured without any chemicals. A natural toy is safe for dogs to chew on.
How to play with dogs
Dogs love to play and will often come to the pet owner to play with him. However, make sure that don't force him to play, if for example he is tired and would rather sleep. Also, if the dog is older, consider going to the vet to make sure he doesn't hurt his leg or anything else while playing. Finally, to encourage dog to play together, always keep some treats or kibble in hand. When the dog does well and understands the rules of the game, praise him! The good thing is that it doesn't take much for our pets to be happy!
